She started Living Laundry upon realizing the interconnections between her professional dance work and organizational development & life/work coaching.

Contact Improvisation Dance Instruction & Community Consulting
Susan Coates leads Contact Improvisation labs, jams, workshops & classes in Boulder & Denver, Colorado. She also offers community-building facilitation, tools, models, and other resources for individuals & groups seeking to create or build healthy & intentional contact improvisation dance communities in their area. Communities served include Boulder & Denver, Colorado; Austin, Texas; Portland, Oregon; Boston, Massachusetts; and Wichita, Kansas.

Susan is a founding core member of the Boulder Contact Improv Lab (2002), and the Denver Contact Improv Lab (2009). She co-authored guidelines for the Boulder CI Lab which have been published in Contact Quarterly (Summer/Fall 2009 Vol. 34 No. 2) and used as a basis for CI lab guidelines worldwide.

Movement & Dance Bio
Susan Coates has been teaching and performing contemporary dance theater for over 10 years in Colorado, working full-time as a performing and teaching company member of Speaking of Dance from 1999–2004. In 2002, she co-founded Dirty Laundry Dance Company, performing original multi-media works in the Denver area. In 2006, she co-founded Ecstatic Cling, a Boulder-based contemporary dance/contact improvisation ensemble that engaged in guerrilla performances in the Boulder–Denver area until 2008. In 2007, she founded Living Laundry, a creative and innovative organization that transforms individuals, organizations, and communities through living arts.
